Dedication towards the growth of others has always been at the heart of my practice. My fulfilment comes from seeing my students, clients, and young children thrive.
Beginning my career as a Youth Support Worker and Teacher, I have worked with a wide range of educators and institutions for 10 years.
Most recently, I worked as an Academic Developer. This involved teaching on the Post-graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) and the Academic Professional Apprenticeship (APA) (Level 7). This role exposed me to a plethora of teaching strategies and online delivery.
Working as an Academic Specialist, Lecturer in Law and Education is where I gained my love of theory and debate. Engaging students in thought-provoking conversations led to confident individuals with professional careers. This gave me a sense of satisfaction which I mirror in my role as tutor and consultant.
My research focus is on critical thinking in Higher Education. I believe that through deep learning, criticality can be enhanced. I have further interests in reflective practice and ethics in education. My book: 'Planning your Research Project' (Waterstones, Amazon) is due to be released in early 2021. Self-reflection is integral to how I navigate both my personal and professional life. Reflection has helped me to grow and look beyond the surface of the day-to-day routine. Working hard on my own goals has given me the innate drive to help others.
I create a rapport where you have the space to bring your challenges, desires and aims. I help you to take the leap and work with you to reach your goals.
In my spare time, you will find me with a book, hot drink in hand, in my favourite coffee shop. I love photography and working with various mediums in art. I believe that the time doing the things that bring me joy, help to re-ignite my professional spark.
